Goodson Family Photographs Discovered

Here are photos of the Goodson family, circa 1943 - newly discovered by Winecoff Fire reader, Cheryl Pampe Fowler. She tells the story of the photos, kept safe for seventy-five years, in her Readers' Mail item.

The Goodson's tragic story is told on pages 51, 52 and 226 of the hardback edition of The Winecoff Fire: The Untold Story of America's Deadliest Hotel Fire.

The Goodson home in Clay City, Ill.

The home was on Pure Oil Company land.

The Pampe family moved into the Goodsons' Clay City home in the weeks following the Winecoff fire.
